I am reading an autobiography of Jack Welch, former CEO of GE, General Electric.

I found some astonishing similarities between him and me.

1. He stammered. I used to stammer when I was young. Even these days, some times I stammer especially when I get on a taxi. I don't know why.
I like what his mother used to say... " Your tongue cannot follow your fast brain." If my child stammers, I will tell him/her this. "Your brain is too fast for your tongue." Good thing to remember.

2. He got into a college, not a famous one. I forgot the name. -_-;; He graduated with honors. He says that because he went to a college not as prestigious as MIT or Harvard, he could gain self-confidence. I sometimes felt the same way about the fact that I decided the mechanical engineering department instead of physics. The atmosphere was a lot less competitive compared to the physics deparment.

3. He got a ph.D in engineering. I am working on it.

Good.
